@ Rocky Horror Picture Show — Live Shadowcast Edition, Directed by Erin Cawley Auditions · Thursday, Sept 3 · 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. · The Sherbino (604 Clinton St.) The Sherbino is casting for its live shadowcast production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show — and we’re opening up a second night of auditions! We know that the Sunday before school starts can be a hectic time with a lot of conflicts, so if you missed the first audition date, this is your second chance to jump in. This is your chance to step into the spotlight, don a wild costume, and bring this cult classic to life on stage. If auditioning for a specific character, we suggest preparing a 1–2 minute section of the film to audition with in shadowcast as that character. We can play this section of the film for you on a background screen during your audition. If open to any character, sides will be provided and preparation is not needed. We HIGHLY encourage wearing costumes and makeup to auditions. What’s a Shadowcast? A shadow cast is a troupe of live performers who act, lip-sync, and dance in front of the movie screen while the film plays. The audience joins the fun with call-backs, props, and dance numbers—creating a mash-up of film, live theater, and interactive party. Since the 1970s, shadowcasts have been the heartbeat of Rocky Horror’s midnight movie legacy, turning every performance into a raucous celebration of freedom, fun, and camp.
