EcoWorkday – Matthaei Botanical Gardens

Join us for an EcoWorkday that focuses on invasive plant removal and strengthening ecosystems! Meet for this event in front of the lobby entrance at Matthaei Botanical Gardens (1800 N. Dixboro Road in Ann Arbor). We will be supplying gloves and any tools that may be necessary. Please follow the link to our website and register for this event. Last minute walk-ins are welcome, but knowing how many people we can expect helps us plan appropriately for the day. It also means we can let you know about any late cancellations due to inclement weather. Things to remember: -Dress for comfort, safety, and the weather presented to you that day. You will be outside in the elements for the duration of your workday. -Wear layers, bring sun protection (sunscreen, hat), and consider using insect repellent. -Sturdy close-toed shoes are required in all settings. Boots are best in muddy weather. -Long pants (not leggings or other light material) are required when working in natural areas to protect yourself against the elements, work tools, and plant material. -Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own refillable water bottle. -If a volunteer is not dressed properly and we believe it is a safety concern, we may dismiss the volunteer(s) for their own safety.
