Join us for this episode to hear about MNFI’s ecological surveys of the island, their methods for prioritizing natural community targets, and stories of some of the most difficult but rewarding field work of their careers. Their presentation will showcase the ecological splendor of Isle Royale, including the rugged volcanic shoreline, the ominously named “Swamp of Sadness,” expanses of old-growth forest, and the rarest Michigan natural community type, sandstone bedrock glade.
