Insights on the effects of Coloring The act of coloring is the rhythmic, repetitive motion of sweeping pigment across a surface to fill empty spaces with color. It requires precise hand-eye coordination to guide a pencil, marker, or brush smoothly within printed boundaries. This physical movement anchors the mind, channeling attention away from external distractions and into a single, structured task. Coloring acts as a powerful micro-break that calms the brain’s stress response and restores deep mental focus. This efficient, screen-free ritual lowers cortisol levels and sharpens decision-making by engaging both analytical and creative hemispheres.
