Little Red's Most Unusual Day: A Fairy Tale for Young Audiences

Little Red's Most Unusual Day is a 40-minute comedic children's opera conceived by John Davies. It sets a funny, twisted version of Little Red Riding Hood to music by famous opera composers Jacques Offenbach and Gioachino Rossini. Forest Ranger Dudley is too why to ask Little Red's mom, the widow Hood, to the Forest Ranger Ball. Little Red goes off to Grandma's house but forgets what her mother says about talking to strangers. And the Wolf, Mr. Big Bad, wants attention and fame even if it's for being bad. In the resulting confusion Dudley loses his pants, Granny kisses the Wolf, Mom gets impatient, and Little Red gets in trouble. In fact, everyone experiences, in one way or another, a very, very unusual day.
