About this event
One of 20 upcoming events at Townsend Center for the Performing Arts UWG.
Sponsored by the Dr. Richard L. Dangle Family Inspired by the traditional dance music of their Nordic heritage, Stundom creates an immersive musical experience that bridges past and present. Blending Scandinavian folk traditions with the richness of classical chamber music and the sweeping textures of modern symphonic sound, the trio crafts performances that are both intimate and cinematic. Featuring the expressive interplay of violin, cittern, and piano, musicians Emma Kragh-Elmoe, Villads Hoffmann, and Julian Svejgaard share an unmistakable chemistry. Together, they weave intricate rhythms, soaring melodies, and heartfelt storytelling to transport audiences to another place and time. Originally formed under a different name, the ensemble became Stundom in 2017, adopting an old Nordic word meaning "from time to time." The name reflects the group's core artistic vision: creating new music for today's listeners while drawing inspiration from centuries of tradition. Their original compositions honor the spirit of the past without being bound by it, resulting in vibrant works that feel both timeless and contemporary. Whether performing energetic dance tunes or deeply expressive melodies, Stundom offers a captivating concert experience celebrating the enduring power of music to connect generations.
