Music in Nature

Migration is adaptive, exploratory, brave, exhilarating, ancestral. Missing Piece, a Chicago-based violin/cello duo, expresses the beauty and the challenge of migration in this particular time and place through sound and music. Enjoy a performance of multiple short works of composers and poets who themselves have personal experience with migration across states, nations, and generations to express the thoughts, feelings, and sounds on the subject: Luis Fernando Amaya (Mexico/Norway), Ilana Waniuk (Canada/US), Myra Hinrichs (US), Shi-An Costello (US), Anton Riehl (US), Clara Takarabe (US), Kyle Churney (US), Akari Komura (Japan/US), Kenji (Costa Rica/Japan/US). Following the performance, there will be a guided nature walk.
