Mystery in Our History: Patriots & Pioneers This Halloween, join the Troup County Archives & Legacy Museum for Mystery in Our History: Patriots & Pioneers, a historical walking tour through Hillview Cemetery in LaGrange. This year’s tour celebrates both America’s 250th Anniversary and Troup County’s Bicentennial, bringing the stories of our nation and local community to life through costumed historical interpreters. Rather than a traditional haunted house, this is an outdoor history experience where guests will walk through the cemetery and encounter characters who share stories connected to the people, events, and history of the Revolutionary era and early Troup County. How the Tour Works Guests will arrive at Hillview Cemetery and check in for their scheduled tour time. Groups will depart approximately every 15 minutes beginning at 7:00 p.m., with the final tour departing at 8:30 p.m. Once your group begins, you will follow a designated route through the cemetery covering more than half a mile. Along the way, you will stop at different locations to meet costumed historical characters who will tell their stories and help connect the events of the past to Troup County’s history. Each guest will also receive a companion booklet to follow along with the tour and provide additional historical information. This is a family-friendly event for all ages, but guests should be prepared for an outdoor nighttime walking tour over uneven cemetery grounds. Comfortable shoes are recommended.
