Growing up, she watched her mother make toys from bamboo, which sparked her appreciation for working with natural materials. She discovered basketry herself through an onion basket-making class and immediately fell in love with the craft. Today, Alice is particularly interested in using locally sourced materials to create baskets inspired by the traditional Japanese hanakago style.
