Since rising to national prominence as a Top 24 finalist on Season 11 of American Idol in 2012, she has built a prolific independent career, moving away from the “Idol” mold to forge a unique identity in the Pacific Northwest music scene. Why You Might Love Haley and her Music • Vocal Power and Range: Often compared to powerhouse singers like Brandi Carlile, Bonnie Raitt, and Grace Potter, Johnsen possesses a “timeless” voice capable of both sultry, bluesy anthems and delicate, emotive ballads. • Genre-Bending Sound: She describes herself as a “musical maverick,” blending elements of Alt-Pop, Americana, Indie-Folk, and Rock. Her music often features “nostalgic” ’70s and ’80s-inspired production, including synth-pop & retro-rock vibes. • Versatile Performer: Whether performing as a solo act or with her full rock band, Haley’s live shows are described as “captivating” and “uplifting”. She has shared stages with Allen Stone, KT Tunstall, Joseph, Liam St John & The Talbott Brothers, and even toured as the bassist & female vocalist for EDM/Indie act Big Wild.
