Age Level: 16 and up Experience Level: Beginner Learn the basics or brush up on your glazing skills. Glaze Galore is a one-day workshop designed for newer ceramic artists seeking introductory guidance on glazing techniques. Perhaps you have experience making ceramic items, but haven’t yet explored the world of finishing them with glaze. In this workshop, your instructor will demonstrate a variety of glazing application methods, such as dipping, brushing, and layering. They will also provide tips and tricks to build your confidence in glazing your work independently. Each student may bring 3-5 pieces of their own bisqueware that was made at Union Project during another class, workshop, or Open Studio. If you do not currently participate in programs at UP, please email cassie@unionproject.org after registering. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Each registration includes glaze and firing costs for one participant. No outside clay or glazes permitted. If a class or workshop is sold out, you may request to be added to the waitlist. Union Project is committed to being accessible to all. The building is wheelchair accessible via the side door on Stanton Avenue, and an accessible parking spot is located just outside that door. Service animals are always welcome, and ASL interpretation can be provided on request. Please let us know what accommodations we can make to ensure your experience is positive, contact Michelle Clesse at 412-363-4550 or michelle@unionproject.org if you have specific accommodations or needs.
Union Project uses the art of ceramics to build meaningful community connections. Plus, a big beautiful historic space to host your next event.
