About this event
One of 59 upcoming events at Union Project, and 973 across Pittsburgh.
Age Level: 16 and up Experience Level: Intermediate and up Want to have your pottery fired in our Gas Reduction or Soda kiln? Come glaze your pots with us during this 3-hour glazing session. You’ll have access to our Cone 10 flashing slips for the Soda kiln and our Cone 10 glazes, which may be used in the Gas Reduction kiln or the Soda Kiln. Bring your bisqueware, glaze it, and leave it to be fired in these high-fire kilns. Each student may bring 8-9 pieces maximum or a 6″ H x 10” W x 10“D footprint (that’s around 6-9 mugs of an average size). You will receive an email as soon as your completed pieces are ready for pick-up. There will be a teaching artist in the studio to answer questions and assist when needed. This Glazing Session is recommended for those who are familiar with the ceramic glazing process, don’t need basic hands-on instruction, and feel confident working independently. If you have any questions about this program, what kind of clay to use, or how to get your work bisque-fired, email Mac in advance. Please read our Studio Policies. Union Project is committed to being accessible to all. The building is wheelchair accessible via the side door on Stanton Avenue, and an accessible parking spot is located just outside that door. Service animals are always welcome, and ASL interpretation can be provided on request. Please let us know what accommodations we can make to ensure your experience is positive. Contact Alex at 412-363-4550×214 or [email protected] if you have specific accommodations or needs.
