Age Level: Children ages 4-9, with an adult caregiver Experience Level: All Levels Clay Play Together is designed for caregivers and children to learn, experiment, and create together. You and your young artist will explore clay using all of your senses. Sing, sculpt, stretch, and play in our clay studio. Our overall emphasis will be on your child’s exploration and how to best respond and encourage that play. We focus on a different project each time we offer this program, so you can sign up for them all! This class is perfect for learning fundamental, introductory handbuilding techniques and getting in that fine motor work. Each registration is limited to one parent (or adult chaperone) and one child. An adult must accompany each child. You will receive an email when your work is ready for pickup, a few weeks after the workshop. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Each registration includes clay, tools, glaze, and firing costs for one adult and one child. No outside clay or glazes permitted. If a class or workshop is sold out, you may request to be added to the waitlist. Union Project is committed to being accessible to all. The building is wheelchair accessible via the side door on Stanton Avenue, and an accessible parking spot is located just outside that door. Service animals are always welcome, and ASL interpretation can be provided on request. Please let us know what accommodations we can make to ensure your experience is positive, contact Alex Woodring at 412-363-4550 or alex@unionproject.org if you have specific accommodations or needs.
Union Project uses the art of ceramics to build meaningful community connections. Plus, a big beautiful historic space to host your next event.
