The band features: Eamonn Flynn — keyboards, vocals & songwriting Felim Egan — accordion & bodhrán Darcy Noonan — fiddle Hector Bragado — banjo Celebrating Dublinesque This special UICC performance celebrates the release of Dublinesque’s new self-titled album, released October 1 by Little Village Music. The album travels across the Irish musical landscape and beyond, featuring traditional tunes from West Cork, Kerry, Connemara, Cape Breton, and the Basque Country, alongside original compositions by Flynn, including “Sack ‘Em Ups” and “Butte, Montana.” And the way the album was recorded captures exactly what makes Dublinesque special. As Eamonn explains: “I truly hope you enjoy listening to this album as much as we enjoyed making it, all playing at the same time with no headphones in the kitchen of Kid Andersen’s studio in San Jose. You can definitely hear us stamping out time with our feet on the floor and I think we captured some of the spirit of the joyous Irish house parties I grew up with.” That spirit comes alive on stage. From Dublin to San Francisco—and beyond Flynn grew up in Dublin surrounded by music, storytelling, and the kind of gatherings where everyone was expected to sing, play, or join in. He began playing piano with legendary Irish musician Rob Strong, father of Andrew Strong of The Commitments, and went on to play keyboards on the iconic The Commitments soundtrack. Since moving to San Francisco, Flynn has built an extraordinary musical career spanning Irish traditional music, R&B, soul, gospel, and roots music. He has recorded and toured with artists including Michael Franti & Spearhead, Evelyn “Champagne” King, Elvin Bishop, Maria Muldaur, Zigaboo Modeliste, and Finbar Furey, among many others. Dublinesque grew out of Flynn’s work teaching music to children at the Irish Center in San Francisco. What began as a backing band for an end-of-term performance quickly became something much bigger: a creative collaboration rooted in Irish musical tradition but alive with influences from across the musical world. Fiddler Darcy Noonan, from Oakland, grew up immersed in Irish music and dance and was playing sessions at Berkeley’s Starry Plough from the age of nine. Felim Egan, from County Offaly, comes from a renowned Irish musical family, while Hector Bragado, who grew up in Guernica, brings his deep roots in traditional Basque music and dance to the mix. Together, they create a show that is virtuosic, soulful, funny, energetic, and deeply rooted in the communal joy of Irish music. As the United Irish Cultural Center has put it: “Dublinesque played a creative mix of Irish music and storytelling that entertained the crowd from start to finish. The musicians are at the top of their craft and the packed house left our venue in pure Irish bliss.” Irish Music Magazine’s Deirdre Cronin describes Flynn’s songwriting as moving “across history, folklore and poetry…with grit and true Dublin savvy.” And Seán Laffey writes: “The well is not dry; Flynn is the bard to continue the canon of songs for Dublin, because every generation needs its memories and melodies.” Come for the music. Stay for the craic. Whether you’re a lifelong lover of Irish traditional music, a fan of The Commitments, or simply looking for a great night of live music at the UICC, Dublinesque 2026 promises an evening of music, stories, songs, and the joyous energy of an Irish gathering.
