San Francisco Historium Two days only! August 22 & 23, 2026 10:00am to 6:00pm Pier 35, on the Embarcadero, San Francisco TICKETS Join the UICC at San Francisco Historium Spotlight—two days only, August 22 & 23, 2026, at Pier 35 on San Francisco’s Embarcadero! This immersive festival brings all of early San Francisco to life: the Gold Rush, the people, the cultures, and the larger-than-life characters who built the city. The UICC is proud to represent the Irish story at the heart of it all. In San Francisco’s early days, Irish immigrants made up a significant share of the city’s population. They arrived with ambition, talent, humor, grit, and dreams—becoming influential civic leaders, workers, artists, entrepreneurs, and many of the colorful characters who helped build this city. Find the UICC in the festival’s Hibernian Hall and Dowling Library, with Irish music and dance, Dowling Library books, artifacts, antiquities, and stories of the Irish who built San Francisco. Enjoy performances by the Comhaltas Ceili Dancers and Irish step dancers from the Rohan Murphy Irish Dance Academy. You’ll also encounter such SF luminaries as Lola Montez and Lotta Crabtree, Jasper O’Farrell and Mark Twain, and many more! We are especially delighted to partner with Red Barn Productions, the creators of the long-beloved Great Dickens Christmas Fair and the Marin Irish Festival & Ceili on the Lake Championships. UICC Cultural Ambassadors Anne Cassidy Carew and Eileen Mize—who have helped spearhead the UICC’s presence at and sponsorship of the Marin Irish Festival—have been working behind the scenes to help bring the story of San Francisco’s Irish community to life. This is just the beginning: future plans envision Historium Spotlight expanding beyond one unforgettable weekend.
