This is the story of the initial location and building of CNY’s most significant military installation. This talk covers the early years with many rarely seen construction photographs and materials provided with the cooperation of the Rome Historical Society and local individuals’ accounts. Jim Coulthart is a Central New York aviation historian specializing in local military and commercial aviation. A lifelong resident of Oneida, Jim brings a passion for World War II history to life through engaging presentations at clubs, libraries, and historical societies across the region. With 12 curated PowerPoint talks, Jim shares stories from the skies that captivate audiences of all ages. Now retired after 43 years as a nonprofit executive across the Northeast, he also teaches business courses at Mohawk Valley Community College.
