About this event
One of 38 upcoming events at Velma V Morrison Center Official Site, and 214 across Boise.
Few works in the orchestral repertoire carry the power, drama, and enduring message of Beethoven’s monumental Symphony No. 9. As we commemorate the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s death, the Boise State University Symphony Orchestra joins forces with the Boise State University Choirs and guest soloists for a season finale celebrating one of the most influential figures in the history of music. Completed near the end of Beethoven’s life, the Ninth Symphony broke new ground by bringing the human voice into the symphonic form. Its extraordinary journey culminates in the triumphant setting of Schiller’s “Ode to Joy,” with its timeless message of joy, hope, and universal fellowship. The evening will also showcase the exceptional talent of a 2027 Boise State Concerto-Aria Competition winner, performing with the University Symphony Orchestra. Join us as we mark Beethoven’s bicentennial with one of his greatest achievements—and one of the towering masterpieces of the orchestral and choral repertoire. Additional Ticket Information
