This class is for adults 21+ years of age and older.Ê All skill levels are welcome. This series includes cocktails, mocktails, snacks, and a tremendous amount of fun! Meet your neighbors, make new friends, or simply enjoy an evening relaxing and creating. Feeling the pressure to complete work within the class time? Have no fear, Art Lab is here! With some exceptions (medium-depending), students are invited to finish their projects during our open hours and during Art After Dark. This is a complimentary extension of the class tuition for our students to allow you to relax and finalize your works of art. May 7 – Monoprinting with Julie Haug $30 Members/$35 Non-Members Julie will lead participants through the process of creating multiple one of a kind monoprints on paper using professional printmaking supplies. Monoprinting is the process of creating multiple prints from a single design, watching each piece of the series evolve to become its own unique statement. Participants will learn the techniques and then create multiple prints during the class. This medium is great fun and approachable. All skill levels are welcome. June 11 – Acrylic and Alcohol Ink on Canvas or Paper $45 Members/$50 Non-Members This class will focus on abstracted imagery and movements using acrylic paints with glazing mediums and/or alcohol inks. The inks used will include options for traditional, solid inks, or, a newer type of delaminating ink which creates fabulous organic textures. July 16 – Needle Felted Painting with Lisa Shea $50 Members/$55 Non-Members Learn the wonderfully therapeutic art of needle felted painting (also known as “wool painting”. Lisa will teach participants how to use colored wool roving and a specialized felting needle to create beautiful, soft, textural masterpieces. All skill levels are welcome. August 6 – Paint to Music with Pura Vida Sierras Art $25 Members/$30 Members Paint with A and enjoy an afternoon of music, acrylics, canvas, and community in this vibrant class. Participants are invited to create their own works to the music or follow A and she teaches the art of painting saturated landscapes. Let the music guide the brushstrokes and paint with freedom. All skill levels are invited. September 24 – Wet Felt Bowls & Vessels with Julie Haug $40 Members/$45 Non-Members Julie will guide participants through the wonderfully hands-on techniques of creating wet felted vessels using resist. Each participant will create their own work(s) of art using dyed wool and other professional level supplies. All skill levels are invited to enjoy one of the oldest art forms dating back thousands of years! October 8 – Nature Weaving with Julie Haug $25 Members/$35 Non-Members Weave beautiful, organic material small art pieces on an 8″x10″ loom.
