Adam Turner, conductor Sarah Uriarte Berry, vocalist Lisa Vroman, vocalist John Riesen, vocalist This incredible evening of beloved classics showcases the amazing legacy of musical theatre’s most famous collaborators, Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. Featuring three celebrated vocalists, this concert highlights the most famous songs from South Pacific, Carousel, The Sound of Music, The King and I, Oklahoma!, and more! Sarah Uriarte Berry starred as ‘Belle’ in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast on Broadway, as ’Cinderella’ in Rogers+Hammerstein‘s Cinderella for New York City Opera alongside Eartha Kitt, and was the first ‘Belle’ ever to grace the stages at Disneyland. She made her Broadway debut as ‘Eponine’ in Les Miserables after graduating from UCLA, Ms.Berry won critical acclaim as ‘Franca’ in the Tony Award-winning The Light in the Piazza at Lincoln Center Theater (Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations-Best Supporting). Other Broadway credits include: ‘Nicola’ in Taboo (opposite Boy George), Next to Normal, and End of the Rainbow. Lisa Vroman starred for several years on Broadway as Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera. As Christine, she garnered Theatre Critics’ awards for the role in a record breaking run in San Francisco, and did a return engagement at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. Her Broadway debut was in Aspects of Love, and she was the first to play both Fantine and Cosette in Les Miserables. Ms. Vroman starred as Rosabella in The Most Happy Fella, making her New York City Opera debut with Paul Sorvino playing the title role. She has sung Maria in West Side Story, Guenevere in Camelot, Carrie Pipperidge in Carousel, Christine in Maury Yeston’s Phantom, Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, and Amalia Balash in She Loves Me, as well as many other well known musical roles. Hailed as “every inch the hero in stature and voice” (Classical Voice North America), award-winning American tenor John Riesen is consistently impressing audiences with his “impassioned…and vibrant” voice (Opera Today). John’s growing career boasts a variety of roles in which he excels and includes significant work in opera, musical theatre, studio recording, and concert. He has released two albums: What You’d Call a Dream (2019) and Christmas at Home (2020) and several singles, including “Autumn Leaves” (2021), “What a Wonderful World” (2021), and “Maria” (from West Side Story, 2021), that have reached well over one million streams on Spotify and Apple Music. John is also the head of Spotify promotion and PR for Emitha LLC, building an ecosystem for classical singers to be heard around the world.
