The East Fork Ember Foundation, in partnership with the Douglas County Rodeo, will host the inaugural Ember Mud Run on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Genoa, Nevada. This sanctioned Douglas County Rodeo event will bring together first responders, businesses, athletes, families and community members for a one-of-a-kind obstacle course challenge supporting the East Fork Ember Foundation and its mission of serving the East Fork Fire and Protection District. Teams of five start together — and finish together. Every member of the team must cross the finish line together to qualify as a finishing team. The course is designed to test strength, endurance, determination and, most importantly, teamwork. Grit. Teamwork. Community. One Mission. Finish Together. NINE DIVISIONS — A PLACE FOR EVERY TEAM Teams may register in one of nine divisions: First Responders – Fire First Responders – Law Enforcement Open Team Competitive Corporate & Community Mixed Team Rodeo Military Senior MODIFIED COURSES AVAILABLE The Ember Mud Run is about challenging yourself, having fun and crossing the finish line as a team. To make the event accessible to an even broader range of participants, a modified course will be available for the Senior Division and Open Team Division. These teams will still experience the mud, obstacles, camaraderie and excitement of the Ember Mud Run, but on a modified course designed to provide an achievable challenge for participants who may not want to tackle the full competitive course. Whether you’re competing for bragging rights or simply looking for a memorable day with friends, coworkers or family, there is a course and division for you. MORE THAN A MUD RUN The East Fork Ember Foundation was created to help provide resources that strengthen emergency response and support the firefighters and paramedics who serve Carson Valley.
