@ Earth Day recognizes, celebrates, and promotes our region’s unique beauty while educating the public about local environmental issues. Saturday, April 18, 2026, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM at The Lake Tahoe Community College. Celebrate stewardship for Lake Tahoe at the South Tahoe Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lake Tahoe Community College in South Lake Tahoe. This year’s theme is “Reduce. Restore. Reconnect.” and residents and visitors are invited to celebrate the environment while committing to care for it every day. This free, family event features a full lineup of activities, including hands-on learning, stewardship, and collective action from partners around the region. Explore immersive experiences hosted by local organizations and businesses and discover simple, actionable ways to protect Lake Tahoe. “South Tahoe Earth Day is a great space for residents and visitors to interact with the people doing great work for Lake Tahoe,” said South Tahoe Earth Day Festival Planning Committee President Cricket Baldwin. “It’s not every day you get to meet the people doing on-the-ground work in environmental protection, conservation, and social services in one place, not to mention, with great food and entertainment!” The festival will feature food vendors, free raffles, and live entertainment, including performances by The Imposters, Cirque du South Lake aerialists, OMNI Tahoe, and an interactive community drum circle. The Tahoe Alliance for Safe Kids (TASK) and the South Lake Tahoe Police Department will be on hand to collect unused medication (no liquids) as part of the nationwide Drug Take Back Day. It is very important to keep the drugs out of the environment. Attendees are encouraged to walk, bike, or take public transportation as part of a shared commitment to reducing environmental impacts. Following the Festival, the celebration continues with the Take Care Tahoe Earth Week Challenge, offering daily events and opportunities for the community to stay engaged and take part in meaningful, ongoing actions to care for Lake Tahoe. The event is made possible through sponsors and the committee organization.
