Justin Cherry is a professional chef, historical baker, and the owner of Half Crown Bakehouse, a mobile operation based in Charleston, South Carolina. A lifelong living history enthusiast, Cherry combined his culinary expertise with a passion for 18th-century foodways to revive traditional baking methods using heritage and landrace grains. In 2019, his dedication to historical accuracy earned him a research fellowship at George Washington’s Mount Vernon, where he now serves as the Resident Baker. He is notably the first American to become a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Bakers in London, one of the city’s oldest livery companies.
