About this event

Community Family Friendly

On Saturday, October 24 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the East Gate Plaza in Poughkeepsie, kids will be able to design, build, and test their own flying creations! Experiment with hoop gliders and paper airplanes to see how shape, balance, and wing size affect flight. Try different designs and see whose aircraft can glide the farthest or stay in the air the longest. Presented by educators from the Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum. The Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum is a hands-on children’s science museum that inspires curiosity and learning through interactive exhibits and engaging programs. The museum welcomes families, school groups, and community partners to explore science, art, and creativity together. Through playful, inquiry-based experiences, the museum encourages children to discover how the world works and imagine what they can create. All Walkway Connections events are free to attend and appropriate for all ages.  Walkway Connections is supported in part by the Maurice D. Hinchey Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area and The M&T Charitable Foundation.
