Scientists and artists have been inspired by the invisible world ever since we invented microscopes. On Friday, June 26 from 7-8 p.m. at the East Gate Plaza in Poughkeepsie, join educators from The Environmental Cooperative as they show off traditional and digital microscopes with plenty of cool samples to explore. Then, learn how to make your own unique art inspired by the tiny things you discover! The Environmental Cooperative works to strengthen place-based awareness of nature in the Hudson Valley. They work with the Vassar College, the Vassar Preserve, the City of Poughkeepsie, and local community-based organizations to connect people with the outdoors. By supporting conservation efforts and facilitating youth programs, they strive to inspire deeper engagement in the natural world while fostering a mindset of environmental stewardship. All Walkway Connections events are free to attend and appropriate for all ages. Walkway Connections is supported in part by the Maurice D. Hinchey Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area and The M&T Charitable Foundation.
