From Wards Pond

Hidden Jamaica Plain researchers will present the remarkable multi-generational story of a resilient Black family whose history spanned three centuries, intertwined with the history of Jamaica Plain and local Black and Indigenous communities. Enslaved in the 1700s, Peter Bridgham gained his freedom and established a Centre Street homestead that nurtured four generations. This event is free and open to the public and light refreshments will be served. This will be a hybrid program. Please attend in person at the First Church if you are able. A Zoom link will be added closer to the event if you prefer to attend using that option.
