One of 2 upcoming events at Warner House, and 364 across Portsmouth.

From Warner House

On Wednesday, Sept 9 at 5:30pm, local writer D. Allan Kerr will remind us that while patriots like Jefferson, Franklin, and Adams are lionized by Americans 250 years later, there were many other Founding Fathers who are not as widely celebrated. The Seacoast is extremely fortunate to claim one of our own among these leaders of the American Revolution. Gen. Whipple was a fascinating, blunt, almost zealous character with an uncanny knack for being present at key moments of the Revolution. Come learn more about this passionate patriot (who most likely did not see eye-to-eye with Jonathan Warner) at our next History & Soup talk. Tickets: $10 for non-members, free for members. Sign up for a membership and come to all talks for free! Please note the time shift for these talks. Doors open & soup is served 30 minutes before the start of the talk in the Carriage House (accessible via Chapel St.) Reservations recommended as we have limited seating. Please email [email protected] to save your spot.
