A small Texas community takes on a big fight in this fast-paced comedy packed with colorful characters and plenty of chaos. Welcome to Doublewide, Texas, population small, personalities large. The residents of one of the tiniest trailer parks in Texas, made up of just four doublewides and a shed, learn that the nearby town of Tugaloo plans to annex their community. What follows is a wildly inventive campaign to save their home, complete with plans to secede from Texas, suspicions of a traitor in their midst and one increasingly outrageous scheme after another. Written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, Doublewide, Texas is a warm, quick-moving comedy about neighbors, friendship and what can happen when a determined little community refuses to go quietly. Big Sky Community Theatre has been gathering locals to the stage annually since 2013 with the purpose of entertaining, inspiring, and enlightening audiences. Funded through Big Sky School District’s Adult Education Program, the theater group comprises volunteer community members of all backgrounds and levels of stage experience.
