Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary in Historic Newtown during Newtown Celebrates America 250 on Saturday, August 8, 2026. This free community celebration features Revolutionary War reenactments, living historians, military drills for children, colonial crafts, historic site tours, museum exhibits, demonstrations, and family activities throughout Newtown’s walkable historic district. Morning activities include Revolutionary War encampments, fife and drum performances, and the Battle at the Bird-in-Hand featuring approximately 50 reenactors portraying American and British forces.
