The Waukegan Park District is hosting the 2026 Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 8 am to 10am at Bevier Park, located at 2255 York House Road. This family event brings friendly competition as participants can win fantastic prizes are given to those who catch the largest fish caught in their respective categories. Categories for Fishing Derby: 4 years and younger 5-8 years 9-12 years 13-16 years 17 years and older Registration will open on Friday, May 1, 2026. Preregistration is required and there will be no on-site registration allowed. The fee for participants 12 years and under are $3/$5 and for ages 13 and older are $5/$7. Only one pole per person.
