The Waukegan Park District will be hosting the 2025 GO WAUKEGAN Winter Hot Chocolate Walk on Saturday, November 29, 2025 from 4pm to 5pm in Downtown Waukegan starting at the Jack Benny Plaza, located on the southwest corner of Genesee Street and Clayton Street. The walk is a free event intended to encourage the community to walk at least thirty minutes every day. The walk will be held in conjunction with the Tree Lighting Ceremony hosted by the City of Waukegan and the City of Waukegan Chamber of Commerce. In collaboration with the Lake County Health Department, the Waukegan Park District launched GO WAUKEGAN, a community initiative designed to improve the health and wellness of local residents by enhancing and increasing the shared experience of walking through activities, education, and collaboration. Pre-registration is not required to participate in the walk. In case of inclement weather, the walk will be postponed until a new date has been determined.
