@ SESSION (3 WEEKS • DECEMBER 2 – DECEMBER 16) Explore how illustrators and storytellers think, and discover how characters, pictures, and imagination can be used to tell stories! Students will learn the basics of visual storytelling through comic art, character design, collage, and bookmaking. Through playful storytelling exercises, we’ll create memorable characters, develop imaginative settings, and illustrate our own winter-themed stories. Young artists will learn how to design expressive characters, create imaginative settings, and use pictures to tell engaging stories. A student art reception will be held in December. Students will take home their collected works in the days following the event—and may choose to sell their artwork or simply share it with pride. Multi-session discount: Sign up for multiple sessions at once and get $10 off each! (This discount cannot be applied retroactively to previously completed sessions.) What to Expect in Our Youth Art Classes (Ages 8–12) Students explore exciting, inspiring themes while experimenting with a variety of materials and techniques. Drawing inspiration from well-known artists and design styles, young artists are guided in discovering their own creative voice in a supportive, studio-like environment. These classes foster a love of art through hands-on projects, playful experimentation, and an introduction to key artistic principles—helping students build confidence, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for the creative process.
