Speaker Series: "The Revolutionary War on Cape Cod - A Tale of Two Shipwrecks"

Ron Petersen has been researching, writing, and lecturing on various topics of Cape Cod history since retiring to Orleans nearly 15 years ago. His numerous articles and essays have been published in the Cape Codder newspaper, the New England Historical Society, the Journal of the Genealogical Society of Cape Cod, The Cape and Islands Historical Association, and Plymouth 400. He has also lectured across the Cape on many topics of area history. Ron is a co-author of a recently published book, The Revolutionary War on Cape Cod and the Islands, and is a member of the Cape and Islands Historians Committee, the organization that conceived, created, and published the book. Ron served for twelve years on the Orleans Historical Commission, nine years as Chair. He also served as vice chair on the Orleans Historical District Study Committee and on the Community Preservation Committee. He was chair of both the Orleans Historical Markers Committee and the 1918 Attack on Orleans Committee, and served on the board of the Orleans Historical Society.
