Applications are now open for Identity in the New Regime, a free, four-week artist residency hosted by hope you have a good time at the Wende Museum’s Glorya Kaufman Community Center. Artists of all mediums are invited to apply. Participants will be selected at random, with consideration for representation across artistic disciplines. Submission does not guarantee selection. Residency Theme Identity in the New Regime reflects on how artists experience the global rise of authoritarianism in contemporary contexts. Through engagement with the Wende Museum’s Cold War collections, residents will draw references from the archive and develop new work that responds to the impact of authoritarian behavior in the United States. The residency culminates in a series of artist talks, where participants will present their work, discuss their process, and reflect on the relationship between art and politics.
