June 5, 2026 at 7PM Westbeth Community Room 155 Bank Street (enter through courtyard) New York, NY 10014 FREE Composer and performer Benji Goldsmith takes the stage for an intimate concert featuring brand-new material from his upcoming album, “The Day the World Stopped Spinning,” and new orchestrations for his piece “J in the Rain” featuring operatic tenor Terrence Chin-Loy. The evening will includes a wide-ranging selection of vocal music, showcasing Goldsmith’s signature blend of storytelling, lyricism, and emotional immediacy. Benji Goldsmith – Composer, Piano, Vocalist – is a composer and songwriter. His writing spans genre and form, encompassing concert music, opera, and musical theater. His music, shows, and songs have been performed at Ars Nova, Trinity Rep, Barrington Stage Company, the Roy Hart Theatre Center, the National Alliance for Musical Theatre, 54 Below, New World Stages, and various other venues in New York and across the country. Terrence Chin-Loy – Tenor – American tenor Terrence Chin-Loy, whom Opera News described as having a “beautiful lyric tenor voice” pairs passionate performance with a full, sweet sound. In the 2025-2026 season, he makes two role debuts, first as Rodolfo in La bohème with Madison Opera, and later as Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly with Arizona Opera. Highlights of recent seasons include his solo debut at the Metropolitan Opera in Terence Blanchard’s Fire Shut Up In My Bones, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte with the National Taichung Theater in Taiwan, Don José in Carmen with MasterVoices at Lincoln Center, and Pang in Turandot with LA Opera.
