Hands-on building a new world zine making workshop class in the Book Arts Studio! I don’t know about you, but sometimes I feel sick to death of the real world—so why not build your own world, from scratch?! In this workshop, we’ll learn about worldbuilding. A richly cultured world is a never-ending source of inspiration for characters and stories. A unique setting can really elevate your story, whether that story is Tolkien-esque epic prose, a D&D campaign for your friends, or anything in between. In this workshop, we’ll talk about fundamentals of worldbuilding and do brainstorming exercises, including making a simple map and a zine “travel guide” to our new settings! No prerequisite knowledge or skills required. Suitable for all ages, children welcome when accompanied by an adult. Things to note: • Makers of all skill levels are welcome. This class is suitable for ages 10+ • All necessary tools to participate are provided. Optional: come with an idea for your card, or be inspired by imagery in our Studio! • Please read our ‘Plan Your Visit’ page to review our health & safety procedures.
