Gadzooks Volunteer Days – AUGUST

Become a Book Arts Volunteer – Join the GADZOOKS! Book Arts works alongside dedicated, hardworking, and passionate volunteers (our team of Gadzooks!) to help with upkeep of our studios for community use. In typography, a ‘gadzook’ is the connecting piece that attaches two letters together in a ligature. Here at Book Arts, the Gadzooks connect our studio space to our community of printmakers, book enthusiasts, members, and friends! Tasks and errands assigned to Gadzooks volunteers vary greatly, from sorting our collection of vintage type, to printing in the Book Arts Studio, and merchandising the shop to basic shop & studio organizing and maintenance. No previous experience is necessary–learn as you volunteer with us! We host Gadzooks Volunteer Days on weekdays and Saturdays year-round. As a perk, Gadzooks may exchange their volunteer hours for Open Studio time (with applicable pre-requisite knowledge) with 20 hours of volunteering time earning 1 Open Studio day.
