About this event
One of 82 upcoming events at Wheeler Opera House, and 98 across Aspen–Snowmass.
Lila Downs stands among Latin America’s most influential artists, known for a singular sound and commanding stage presence. Rooted in Oaxaca and shaped between Mexico and the United States, her work blends Mexican tradition with jazz, cumbia, folk, and contemporary rhythms. Each performance reflects a deep commitment to cultural heritage, storytelling, and artistic expression that spans borders. A multi–Grammy and Latin Grammy Award–winning artist, Downs has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Hollywood Bowl, and on international broadcasts including the Academy Awards. Her 2026 album Cambias mi Mundo (You Change My World) returns to an acoustic and intimate sound, centered on original compositions and global themes. Her concerts balance celebration and reflection, drawing from a rich musical lineage while speaking to present-day experiences with clarity and purpose.
