Relax Attack Jazz Series: Morgan Turner Quartet

The Morgan Turner Quartet features: Arman Sangalang / sax Kyle Paul / guitar Morgan Turner / bass & compositions Paul Barrilles / drums Morgan Turner is a Chicago-based bassist and composer whose work bridges tradition and innovation in contemporary jazz. A member of the acclaimed Chicago collective IRIS, she appears on their self-titled debut album (Shifting Paradigm Records, 2024) and performed with the group at the Chicago Jazz Festival alongside trumpeter Russ Johnson. A 2023 Women in Jazz Organization mentee under composer Ayn Inserto, Turner has also performed nationally with IRIS, including at the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Academy. She holds music degrees from Northern Illinois University and Western Michigan University. Every Tuesday and Wednesday, we present Chicago’s top jazz artists in a lively atmosphere, full of cocktail-shaking and spirited conversation. 6pm doors / 9pm jazz / 2 sets / no cover
