We’re thrilled to announce that White Bear Township has been selected to host The Wall That Heals, a three–quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC, along with a mobile Education Center. The traveling exhibit honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces in the Vietnam War, and it bears the names of the 58,281 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam. Ceremonies and Events during The Wall That Heals include: Tuesday, August 4 The Wall That Heals arrives with motorcycle escort between noon and 2pm Thursday, August 6 Welcome Home Ceremony – 9am featuring White Bear’s General Paul Nakasone (ret) as keynote speaker Taps at sunset Friday, August 7 Light the Night Ceremony – at sunset (approximately 9pm) Taps will follow ceremony Saturday, August 8 Echo Taps at sunset Sunday, August 9 Closing Ceremony – 1:45pm The Wall That Heals – White Bear Township is hosted by the White Bear Lake Area Historical Society in partnership with White Bear Township, White Bear Lake VFW Post 1782, White Bear Lake American Legion Post 168 and their Auxiliaries.
