Artistry in Nature Teen Trek: Following in the Footsteps of Violetta White Delafield with Colleen Harrak

Saturday, November 7, 2026 For grades 6 – 12 Follow in the footsteps of noted mycologist Violetta White Delafield (sister of Alain & May) and become a nature explorer for the day! Armed with a sketchbook and pencils, we’ll head out to the same forests Violetta did a hundred years ago to hunt for fascinating plants, strange fungi, wildlife, and beautiful landscapes. Learn how explorers and adventurers recorded their discoveries before cameras existed and create your own field journal along the way. No drawing experience needed. This adventure is all about exploring, observing, and having fun outdoors. We will supply sketchbooks, and pencils! This is a drop-off teen program for grades 6-12. 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, Meet in the A. B. Ceder Room.
