Class Title: Handbuilt Ceramics Instructor: WKM Staff Cost: $205 Time and date(s): Thursdays 3/12-4/16 from 4:00PM-7:00PM (6 weeks)* Location: Clay Studio (Art Lab lower level; stair access only) Skill level: Beginner/intermediate Audience: Teen – adult Description: Let’s play in clay! In this class you will be led through tutorials and learn how to use and create templates to build functional pottery pieces. Projects may include: wall pockets, lidded jars, citrus juicer, pour-over coffee mug set, votive candle luminaries, divided dish, flower vase, and more. We will work together on a project the first day of class, explore examples for upcoming projects, then the class will vote on projects desired for the rest of class. Participants will be welcomed and encouraged to come work in the studio on other days to refine projects. *At the completion of 6 weeks of project-making, works will need to dry out and be bisque-fired. Students will return to underglaze and glaze their pieces before a final firing. Dates TBD.
