Support Windsor Historical Society’s bi-annual fundraiser and explore a striking selection of beautifully and creatively furnished Windsor residences. This year’s collection of homes represents a range of time periods and styles. Sponsors Needed! Buy an ad in the House Tour booklet Your advertisement in the Windsor House Tour program booklet is key to the event’s success. Windsor Historical Society is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Your support will help us fulfill our mission to help people “connect with Windsor’s evolving history by preserving, interpreting, and sharing our community’s artifacts and stories.” The house tour attracts hundreds of attendees who each receive a program booklet containing information about each featured house and your ad, as their admission ticket. Funds raised through the tour supports Society programming for students, families, and adults and helps preserve Windsor’s history for future generations. Purchasing an ad is a great way to get your message to a targeted local audience and show your support for Windsor history and culture. Volunteers Needed! Friendly volunteers who enjoy meeting people are being sought to help with a special one-day event drawing hundreds to Windsor. Volunteer hosts are needed at each home to make visitors feel welcome, provide brief interpretation on interior architectural details and keep an eye on the homeowner’s furnishings and collectibles. Volunteers are asked to make a two-hour commitment as well as attend the training session. Shifts are short because many volunteers want the option of taking the tour themselves. We can accommodate groups of friends who want to volunteer together, so please share this request with friends and neighbors. We offer all volunteers a FREE ticket to the house tour and an invitation to the Homeowner and Volunteer Appreciation After-Party. The tour is a major fundraiser for the Society, supporting public programs for schoolchildren and adults and the operation of our historic houses, research library, and exhibition galleries.
