OPENING RECEPTION: June 5th 530PM-7PM. Show statement: Light warms the dark corners; Light shines and reflects for growth; it brightens and highlights that which resides in the dark; Light works magic. ‘There in the light’ is an exploration of what we, as individuals, neighbors, communities, citizens of the world, generate as “fuel” for the continued life we lead and invites us to think deeply about where we shine our light. Artist Bio: Molly C. Meng has an obsession with ephemera, vintage photos, and every single discarded book that exists; her work reimagines untold stories behind the otherwise forgotten items of the everyday. She is a mixed-media artist who uses collage in both paper and textiles as her dominant form of communicating. Molly successfully weaves the elements of ephemera and storytelling into each artwork she creates. She makes large-scale commissions for public and private clients, as well as showing artwork nationally in galleries and shops. She teaches creative workshops throughout the U.S. and in France. Molly C. Meng is currently living and working on the Seacoast of New Hampshire.
