Growing Season Stewardship Days

Hands-on conservation at WWLT preserves Join Woods & Waters Land Trust for our Growing Season Stewardship Days, where volunteers help care for protected lands during the most active time of year for plant growth. During the growing season, stewardship work focuses on removing invasive plants and supporting native vegetation while working carefully around actively growing habitats. Each Stewardship Day takes place at one of WWLT’s preserves and involves hands-on conservation work—primarily invasive plant removal—to protect native plant communities and wildlife habitat. Volunteers work alongside staff and fellow community members on meaningful, on-the-ground stewardship tasks. No prior experience is required. WWLT provides tools, training, and on-site guidance. Stewardship Days are held monthly during the growing season and last approximately 2 hours. Locations and specific tasks vary by site, season, and weather conditions. Why it matters: Invasive plants grow quickly during the growing season. Regular volunteer stewardship helps prevent them from spreading, protects native species, and strengthens the resilience of conserved lands. Dates: Stewardship Days will be held on the last Wednesday of each month.
