John Hare, NOAA Sponsored by: Biology Department – Redfield Auditorium (reception to follow) Remembering Joel Joel joined WHOI in 2010 and became a tenured Associate Scientist in 2023. Known affectionately as a “fishy oceanographer,” his research connected oceanography, fish ecology, biology, and fisheries-from larval fish to herring and the mesopelagic ocean. This will be the first annual gathering honoring Joel’s memory.
