European Landscapes and Landmarks from the Permanent Collection EXHIBITION: May 1 – August 9, 2026 OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, May 2, 4-6pm TOWBIN WING This exhibition presents a selection of 27 artworks from the permanent collection, including paintings, prints, drawings, and photographs depicting familiar European vistas and historic sites. Set in France more than anywhere else, the works on view reveal the variety and beauty of the continent through the eyes of Woodstock artists who captured hills, lakes, mountains, and monuments of many countries. Highlights include Ernest Fiene’s meticulously detailed lithograph of Notre Dame (1929), Eugenie Gershoy’s charming rendering of a Paris market (1932), Rosella Hartman’s color lithograph homage to the canals of Venice, and George Copeland Ault’s tonalist oil painting Haystacks in Sunlight and Mist (1911), perhaps a reference to Monet’s iconic haystack series.
