Celebrate 90 years of the Zanesville Museum of Art with a special edition of ZMA Talks: Clay in Action: Techniques Behind Zanesville Pottery. Join Education Coordinator Misty Johnson for an engaging look at some of the clay manufacturing methods used by Zanesville’s renowned pottery companies in the heyday of American art pottery production. This program will also feature live demonstrations of slip-casting and wheel throwing, offering a hands-on look at the processes behind many of the iconic wares produced in Zanesville. This special anniversary program celebrates the city’s legacy as the Pottery Capital of the World while honoring the local art pottery heritage that has been central to the museum’s mission for 90 years.
