About this event

Workshops Arts & Culture

Join us for an intensive workshop on Trauma-Informed Practices, Art as Resistance, and Voices of Survivors on Thursday, May 7, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at The Zekelman Holocaust Center. Collaborate with teachers from Genesee Intermediate School District at The Zekelman Holocaust Center. The day will start with Trauma-Informed Practices, where we will cover how to best prepare not only your students, but also yourself, to thoughtfully teach traumatic content such as the Holocaust. From there, we will look at art as a primary source and how it was used as resistance during the Holocaust. We will end the day by discussing how to incorporate local survivor stories into lesson plans so students can get a deeper understand on the human story.
