@ Thinking Outside the Pot: Alternative Growing Methods Orchid vendors & retail stores often sell orchids in inexpensive clay or plastic pots. Buyers tend to keep their plants in containers like the one they were purchased in. In this meeting, Monica will discuss her experience growing orchids in ways that mimic an orchid’s native habitat. There will be a live demonstration of mounting an orchid. Society members may bring a plant that they would like to try mounting. A limited number of supplies will be provided to members. Feel free to bring your own mount if you have one on hand. Open to the public and free to attend with garden admission: free for Conservancy members. Speaker Bio: Monica Gaylord has several decades of experience growing and blooming beautiful orchids. She serves on the Heart of Texas Orchid Society’s Board of Directors and enjoys sharing her passion for orchids with others.
