Born in New York City in 1967, he has been an active performer and recording artist since 1990, first gaining recognition through recordings with saxophonist Lou Donaldson and the acclaimed organ trio of Larry Goldings and Bill Stewart, a group still touring today. That same year, he was featured at Jim Hall’s JVC Jazz Festival concert at Town Hall. Bernstein spent ten years performing with Lou Donaldson and later worked with Joshua Redman (1995–97). Over the years he has collaborated with jazz icons including Sonny Rollins, Diana Krall, Brad Mehldau, Bobby Hutcherson, Lee Konitz, and Dr. Lonnie Smith. With a warm tone, deep swing, and refined melodic language, Bernstein has performed at major clubs and festivals worldwide and appears on more than 300 recordings, including 14 albums as a leader. His latest release, Better Angels(Smoke Sessions), features Brad Mehldau, Vicente Archer, and Al Foster. Anthony Wilson is an acclaimed guitarist and composer known for a distinctive body of work that moves fluidly across jazz and beyond. The son of legendary trumpeter and bandleader Gerald Wilson, he has built an internationally respected career shaped by deep musical lineage and an adventurous compositional voice. Wilson first gained major recognition with his debut album Anthony Wilson (1997), a nine-piece “little big band” project that earned a GRAMMY nomination. He followed with a series of celebrated recordings, including Power of Nine (2006), named one of The New Yorker’s top ten jazz albums of the year. His trio releases Our Gang, Savivity, and Jack of Heartsfurther established him as a creative bandleader with a refined, soulful approach. A highly sought-after performer, Wilson has been a core member of Diana Krall’s quartet since 2001, appearing on the GRAMMY-winning Live in Paris. His collaborations include Charles Lloyd, Ron Carter, Bobby Hutcherson, and Madeleine Peyroux, as well as pop icons such as Paul McCartney and Willie Nelson.
